The Marlin is a Devotion 37 built with wheelhouse and equipped with inside and outside steering. It is a ship for any weather and any area. Because of the fin keel, narrow waterline and sharp lines, she sails high and well close to the wind, even in sea conditions. The pointed stern prevents the ship from trimming forward under an angle of heel, so that going off the rudder will not occur.
Because of the weight and the sharp and deep forefoot the ship runs very smoothly and without blows even through rough seas.
The rigging is manageable and has many possibilities. For every weather condition the right sail can be chosen. Sailing on the IJsselmeer and Zeeland waters is of course excellent, but at sea this ship feels most at home.
The wheelhouse not only allows you to steer inside but you also have a clear view outside from the navigation area. A big advantage is that one is more involved with the sailing inside and not sitting in a dark loft at the bottom. The ship is not dark anyway because of the 4 prisms which are mounted in the deck in stainless steel frames.
The ship easily reaches its hull speed both under sail and engine.
